We ask donor families for something real: a commitment to keep turning up. In return, every dog in the household receives priority access if they ever need a compatible product, and the enrolled donor receives the preventive care and screening listed below.

There is no membership fee or charge for donor screening. Product access still runs through the treating veterinarian and depends on compatibility, clinical suitability and availability.

Every dog in your household comes first
If any dog in an enrolled donor household ever needs a compatible blood product, they receive priority access. The treating veterinarian must request it and remains clinically responsible for the transfusion. Release is subject to clinical suitability and product availability.

A complete health screen
A full blood count, liver panel, kidney panel and PCR screening for tick-borne disease, repeated on an ongoing schedule. The family receives the laboratory results with a clear explanation of any finding and the follow-up it requires.

Annual vaccination
We take over your dog’s core vaccination schedule and keep it current for as long as they are enrolled. One less thing to remember, one less bill.

Routine deworming on schedule, provided and administered by our team at each appropriate visit.

Tick fever prevention
Preventive medication against tick-borne disease, supplied free. We screen for tick fever because it matters for blood safety, and we prevent it because it matters for your dog.

A veterinary team who knows your dog
Donors are seen regularly by the same team, with a longitudinal record of their bloodwork. Trends over time are worth more than any single test, and very few pets have that.

Results shared with your own vet
If you would like your regular veterinarian to have your dog’s screening results, we will send them across. The programme is meant to add to your dog’s care, not sit apart from it.

Treats, toys and Cesalpino things to take home. Donation day should be a day your dog is pleased to arrive for, and most of ours are.
Recognition
A named place on the programme
Every donor is a named individual with a record and a donation count, not an anonymous unit. With your permission, your dog appears on our donor wall.
Worth saying plainly
This is not payment for blood.
We want to be clear about what these benefits are and what they are not. Cesalpino does not pay families for blood, and we would not want a donor enrolled for that reason.
What we do instead is remove every cost and every obstacle in the way of taking part. A donor dog needs to be genuinely healthy and closely monitored for the programme to be safe, so the screening, the vaccination, the deworming and the tick prevention are not perks bolted on afterwards. They are the programme doing its job. The fact that they also happen to be worth a great deal to your dog is the happy part.
